The El Paso Rhinos got their fourth win of the young season with a 5-2 road victory against the San Antonio Diablos.
A night after getting his first shutout of the season, Andrew Duff stopped 25 of 27 Diablos shots, while El Paso\’s offense continues to put up numbers.
Five different Rhinos found the net against San Antonio goalie Hunter Fernandez after Cameron Snyder gave the hosts a 1-0 lead at 16:49 of the first period.
But the lead lasted a mere 12 seconds as returning forward Casey Lutz beat Fernandez at 17:01.
The Diablos J.P. Kascsak made it 2-1 at 5:19 of the second, but Rhinos forward Donald Geary tied it with another late-period goal, scoring with just a minute left in the second frame.
The third period was all El Paso as the Rhinos hard-hitting checks began to take their toll.
Trevor Erickson scored 4:52 into the third, followed by a power play goal by defenseman Andrew Ketterer just 1:06 later.
David Fegler put the cap on another successful Saturday with his goal at 19:45 of the third.
