(EL PASO, TX) — David Nelson and Matthew Plesa each notched hat tricks and goalie Isaak Tjaden earned his first shutout as the El Paso Rhinos ran roughshod over the Tulsa Junior Oilers, 14-0.
The Rhinos improved to 17-0-0-0 and remain the only undefeated team in the Western States Hockey League.
Tjaden stopped all 11 Junior Oilers shots. Coupled with Oliver Gervais’ shutout in Thursday’s series opener, the Rhinos have outscored Tulsa, 25-0.
El Paso got scoring from all over the ice. Halen Sampson, Fabien Dube, Nick Plesa, Dakota Beaulieu, Andrew Bradford, Peter Plesa, plus defensemen Roman Konecny and Jack Strusz all tallied for the hosts.
The teams will play once more at the Events Center Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. MST. For tickets and information, contact the Rhinos’ front office at 915/479.PUCK (7825).=
