The El Paso Rhinos got scoring from 10 different players in a 12-4 win over the Arizona Redhawks that vaulted El Paso to the top of the Western States Hockey League\’s Mountain Conference.
Tyler Brady and Tommy Malkmus tallied twice — Brady in the first period, Malkmus in the second — as the Rhinos swept Arizona in the three-game series.
Special teams played a big part of the game as El Paso went 2-for-6 on the power play with man advantage goals from David Nelson and 6-8 Czech Republic defenseman Matej Steigauf.
The Rhinos also got a short-handed goal from Chris Wilhite. El Paso paces the league with seven short-handed goals.
El Paso\’s next home games come the Wednesday before and the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, as they take on the Wichita Junior Thunder, Nov. 21-24. All games will start at 7:30 p.m. MST.
The Rhinos are on the road the next two weekends, though, to take on the Phoenix Knights and the defending Thorne Cup champion Idaho Junior Steelheads.
