The El Paso Rhinos outshot the Texas Renegades, 106-26, and earned their 31st win, beating the Renegades, 11-1, Sunday afternoon in Fort Worth.
Rhinos goalie Arthur Hollinger earned his 18th win while David Fegler, new defenseman Andrew Ketterer, Trevor Erickson and Nick Gorup each scored twice to give El Paso a 31-2-1 record and 63 points, which leads the second place San Antonio Diablos by 13 points in the WSHL’s Mid-West Division.
Fegler opened the scoring 9:03 into the first period, followed by Ketterer and Austin Balko.
Bill Krueger, Shane Callahan, Gorup, Ketterer and Erickson all tallied in a five-goal second period while Gorup, Fegler and Erickson rounded the out the scoring in the third.
In the two games against Texas this weekend, Hollinger stopped 49 of 50 Renegades shots.
