Friday: Corpus Christi 4 @ El Paso 3 – Four straight goals from the IceRays helped them secure a 4-3 win over the El Paso Rhinos. After Nick Turek and Bo Cosman put the Rhinos up 2-0. Stepan Kuznetsov scored twice while Charlie Murphy and Blake Lewis to put Corpus Christi up by two. Turek’s second of the game got the Rhinos within one but that’s as close as they would get. Stefan Carney stopped 51 shots to earn the win in goal. Lassi Lehti made 42 saves in the loss for El Paso.
Saturday: Corpus Christi 6 @ El Paso 3 – Four goals in the third period helped lead the Corpus Christi IceRays to a 6-3 win over the El Paso Rhinos. Dylan Contreras, Colby Seitz, Brady Carlock and Blake Lewis all scored in the final frame of regulation. Stepan Kuznetsov and Trey Zagrzbeski scored earlier in the contest for Corpus Christi. Tyler Pfister led El Paso with a goal and an assist while Jonathan Horn and Frank Tafelski added goals for the Rhinos. Stefan Carney made 42 saves in the blue paint to earn the win in goal. Jacob Zacharewicz stopped 43 shots in the loss.
