Since coming into existence in 2006, the El Paso Rhinos built slowly but steadily with one goal in mind: They wanted to play in the North American Hockey League, the only Tier II junior league sponsored by USA Hockey.
That long-held goal was realized Tuesday when the Rhinos announced they will begin play in the NAHL starting in the 2021-22 season. They will play in the Tier III NA3HL this coming season and will field two teams starting in 2021-22.
