The Rhinos are excited to announce forward Bo Cosman’s commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
In his first season with the Rhinos, the Milton, Georgia native tallied 10 goals and 11 assists in 59 games. One of only four returning players this season, Cosman is currently averaging a point a game with two goals and four assists in six games. He recently scored the overtime game winning goal in Corpus Christi to give the Rhinos a 2-1 win over the IceRays.
“I decided on UMass because I believe the academics and the hockey program will be a great fit for me,” Cosman said. “Coach Carvel is awesome, and I can’t wait to learn from him and grow as a hockey player with his help. The campus is incredible and I’m excited to call it home next fall.”
“I want to thank my coaches, family, friends, and all the people who helped make this dream come true,” Cosman added.
The UMass Minutemen won back-to-back Hockey East Tournament Championships in 2021 and 2022 and earned their first NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey National Championship in 2021. Notable UMass hockey alumni include the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Conor Sheary, the Los Angeles Kings’ Jonathan Quick and the Colorado Avalanche’s Cale Makar who was part of the 2022 Stanley Cup Championship team.
