Friday, Oklahoma Warriors 4 @ El Paso Rhinos 5 – Rhinos play host to the Warriors this weekend as we start the first half of a two game series. Rhinos are up first on the board as Tory Lund is awarded first goal of the night at 13:32 in the first period. Warriors tie the game with less than a minute left in the period to put the score at 1-1 headed into the second period. Right out of the gate we see Tyler Green give the Rhinos their second goal of the night at 3:45 into the period, followed by Davin Duckworth at just over seven minutes. The Rhinos enjoy a comfy 3-1 lead before the Warriors begin their counterattack as Drew Sutton & William Brenner tie up the game once more at 3-3 before the second period is out. This momentum would carry into the third periiod as Owen Carlile gives Oklahoma a temporary 4-3 lead at just over six minutes. Unfortunately for the warriors this would be their last goal of the night as the Rhinos’ Jussi Malmi ties the game yet again and Camden Bajzer takes the lead with just under three minutes left to go in regulation time. The Rhinos would take game 1 over the Warriors 5-4.
Saturday, Oklahoma Warriors 6 @ El Paso Rhinos 0 – Rhinos once again host the Oklahoma warriors as we begin the second game of the series. Adam Smith takes first goal of the night for the Warriors just over halfway through the first period. Warriors head into the second period with a 1-0 lead over the Rhinos. Oklahoma carries this momentum into this period with two goals; One from William Lawson-Body and another from Joey Delgreco. Try as they may, Rhino offense still struggles to break through Oklahoma Goalie Daniel Duris’ defense. The third period would see three more goals from the warriors as William Ahlrik takes one followed by Brendan Williams taking two of his own. Rhinos would split the series with one game a piece as t he Warriors take the second game 6-0.
