TFCU ANNOUNCES NEW PARTNERSHIP WITH EL PASO RHINOS DEBIT CARD
El Paso, Texas. Tuesday, December 8, 2020 – TFCU is proud to announce its exclusive partnership with the El Paso Rhinos on the release of the El Paso Rhinos Debit Card. This is the first of TFCU’s Community Spirit Debit Cards, a continuation of its established High School Spirit Debit Card donation program.
Going above and beyond conventional sponsorships, TFCU is upholding its mission to enrich the El Paso community by supporting the El Paso Rhino’s 501(c)(3) organization, the El Paso Hockey Association. This non-profit organization serves over 1000 local families by offering youth, high school, and adult hockey programs.
Similar to their highly successful High School Spirit Debit Card, which has already donated over $20,000 to local area high schools since 2019, the El Paso Rhinos Debit Card will give the El Paso Hockey Association $0.05 for every qualified purchase. TFCU will then match every donation for the first three years. The cash back will help their Rhino Rookies Program pay for high expenses like equipment, as they continue to make hockey more affordable and accessible for more than 100 kids in our community.
The El Paso Rhinos Debit Card is the first of many highly anticipated Community Spirit Debit Cards set to benefit unique organizations in El Paso with their donation program.
TFCU members will also receive free admission to home games when they present their TFCU Debit Card at the El Paso County Coliseum Events Center. Please note that restrictions will apply and alternate arrangements may be made to ensure attendees’ health and safety when considering appropriate distancing protocols.
About the El Paso Rhinos: From cow barn to ice hockey rink, retired and former El Paso Buzzards professional hockey player Cory Herman founded the El Paso Rhinos in 2006. The Rhinos faced many challenges trying to find support in creating a local culture for a sport that wasn’t traditional to the border community.
Today the Rhinos make over 300 appearances annually, visiting schools, non- profit organizations, and other local events. They were named Kraft Hockeyville USA 2020 by Kraft-Heinz, the National Hockey League, and NHL Players Association. The El Paso Figure Skating Club currently has over 100 active members, and the rink see’s over 230,000 visitors during the holiday season.
