Amarillo native Kendal Craig has returned for his second full season with the Rhinos. Starting off in the Rhinos youth program six years ago, Kendal was promoted to the Junior A roster in February of the 2012-2013 season. In Craig’s first complete season with the Rhinos, he was able to hoist the Thorne Cup and National Championship trophies.
As one of the few returning veterans, Kendal has a simple plan for ensuring success for the team he will be leading. “You prepare to follow up the past season just like any other season by training harder than the year before. I know what coach looks for in us and I can help show all the new guys what he expects out of us.”
The 6’1 right wing also prefers to lead by example, assuring that his skill level surpasses last year’s personal success. “I've been in El Paso for 3 years and the training and coaching we get here is great but there's still so much more I have to learn here. I’m doing everything I can do to make sure I'm better than last season.” As one of the younger members on the roster, Kendal tallied 18 points in 22 regular season games. At the National Tournament, Craig’s physical playing style earned him a three point game.
In addition to working out on weekday mornings throughout the summer, Kendal was able to attend a Queen concert and go biking in Ruidoso on the Fourth of July. An avid mountain biker, Craig hopes to make time to take on the Franklin Mountains while he is in the Sun City.
