El Paso Rhinos partner with Pointstreak Performance, implement state-of-the-art ice hockey technology
EL PASO, TX – This offseason, the El Paso Rhinos reached an agreement with Pointstreak Sports Technologies Inc. to provide a state-of-the-art video indexing and recruitment solution called Performance.
Performance by Pointstreak will allow Rhinos players and coaching staff the ability to record, share, and index high quality video clips of every shift of every game in the upcoming 2014-15 season. Built around Steva Hockey’s high-tech video and time-on-ice tracking capabilities, Performance also features player profiles, team calendars, off-ice training, nutrition and NCAA recruitment information.
Pointstreak’s interactive cloud-based software will provide all coaches, administrative staff, players, and scouts with their own accounts, making the ability to share customized video and other hockey-related information amongst each other virtually seamless.
From an administrative standpoint, the Rhinos will save time and administrative costs with such seamless player tracking, allowing all aspects of the organization’s operation to improve.
Vice President Brent Grieve of Cardinal Sports Management, a division of Pointstreak Sports Technologies, Inc. commented on the company’s “successful and long-standing relationship” with the Rhinos organization.
“[The El Paso Rhinos] have benefited from our technology platforms for years and we are very excited about implementing Performance. We are very proud of the successful launch of this technology and the fact that the Rhinos have chosen to move forward exemplifies the excellence they have achieved and will continue to achieve in the future,” said Grieve.
Rhinos head coach Cory Herman echoed Grieve’s sentiments, saying “This is a huge step for our organization and program. We will be using this for all of our junior players and future Rhinos. We look forward to a great continued partnership with Steva and Pointstreak.”
Some of Pointstreak’s notable Performance clients include the NHL’s Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens, as well as the gold-winning Team Canada men’s Olympic ice hockey team.
The Rhinos will begin using Pointstreak Hockey Performance when training camp commences this September.
