Despite falling behind the Blazers early on, the Rhinos came back to win the second game of the Heart Health Awareness Series.
Starting for the first time in the Sun City, Rhino netminder Angus Campbell held the Blazers to only one goal on Saturday. Making 21 saves in the first period alone, Campbell stopped all but one shot in the first twenty minutes of play. He made 21 more saves throughout the second and third period for a .976 save percentage on the game.
After an offensively ineffective first period for the Rhinos, Alex Johanson found the net just over six minutes into the second period. The Rhinos’ held the Blazers scoreless throughout the second twenty minutes of play, making the score 1-1 heading into the third.
New Rhino, Billy Wildman, took a hooking penalty before dropping the gloves against Oklahoma City’s Niko Walsh halfway through the final period. With just under five minutes remaining in the third, Ty Erramouspe, with the help of David Chachalak and Alex Johanson, netted the game winning goal. Game two’s final score of 2-1 evens the series at 1. The Rhinos and Blazers will face off for game three at 4:30 tomorrow to decide the series.
