Former Rhinos at IIHF World Championships

Former Rhinos, Adam Vay and Krisztian Nagy will take on Team Canada tomorrow at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships. Both Hungary natives, Vay and Nagy earned spots on the national team earlier this year and have traveled to St. Petersburg Russia for the international tournament.

In two seasons with the Rhinos, Adam Vay had a goals against average of 1.9 and save percentage of .92. He followed up the end of his junior hockey career with the Debreceni Hoki Klub where he posted a GAA of 2.75 and save percentage of .926.

Nagy spent only 15 games in the Sun City, but put up 26 points during his short stint with the Rhinos. This season, the forward tallied 16 goals and 23 assists with MAC Budapest.  

Yesterday, with a final score was 4-1, team Hungary lost to Slovakia in the opening game on the second day of the tournament at Yubileiny Arena. Check out the video highlights and game recap. You can also see Hungary’s roster here and follow the team and on the IIHF’s media page.
