“Garrett is exactly the type of player Coach (Herman) likes. He’s a scrapper yet he can score goals and he’s physical.
I know being in El Paso Garrett will be able to advance to the college level”  -  Nick Gorup

“Garrett’s a multi-faceted player, he’s got good offensive skills, he’s fast and physical.
He’s very solid on the puck, he’ll remind people of former Rhino (and UMD hopeful), Eric LaBounty.” Coach Cory Herman

“I went to the first Rhino camp with Nick (Gorup), all the vets that were there were really friendly and helped me out a lot, the coaching staff was really good, and the fans were great even though it was just a camp”

“I’m going there to win a Thorne Cup, I saw Nick’s ring and I wanna get one of those, and my long term goal is to play college hockey and I think this is the program that can get me there.”

The Rhinos have always had a player from the state of Nebraska and this time his name is Garrett Poland.
